About the inspirational interiors team of writers
With a world in flux in the 21st century, it is only right that social commentaries reach via the web to readers about every subject. Whilst this is not a political website, it does aim to enrich the visitor and provide a resource by matching interior designer, designers, and the greater industry with economic and social elements of our time, and throughout history.
Our staff are a collection of historians, social history writers and interior design fans. With art history we see commentators widely attributing paintings, books and various artworks with the contemporary moment. Whichever point in time is reached, art provides a valuable comment from deep within the subconscious collective. In the same way our group feels the same about interior design and it’s deeper connections with current history, availability of materials, trade and fashions all create a rich tapestry of intermixed ideals and idealisms. By writing and sharing our view points we hope to provide our visitors with a rich resource of ideas and inspirations, key suppliers of products, design guides and projects which will all help the viewer to not only improve the quality of their lives, but provide a deeper understanding of why elements of interior design are around, why materials are used, where they might have come from and who to source them from.
Better living through interiors
We cannot of course hope to make the world a better place through our writing, however we can as a society make the world a better place through sensitive application of design, through sustainable product sourcing and via sharing the gifts bestowed on us. Life is about sharing, interior spaces are about entertaining and giving. We create kitchens to meet and eat, one of the most basic functions for the human, yet what kitchens we can have! What spaces are possible with a touch of understanding, sympathy and historic knowledge to place importance to our design. We write about kitchens and bathrooms, windows and doors, and all from a historic application of contemporary standpoints.
